Nielsen//NetRatings (Nasdaq: NTRT), a global leader in Internet media and market research, announced today that HillaryClinton.com was the No. 1 presidential campaign site in January 2007. BarackObama.com and JohnEdwards.com ranked second and third, with 574,000 and 464,000 unique visitors, respectively.
More than any other U.S. presidential campaign in history, the battle for the White House in 2008 is taking place online. Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton launched her official campaign in a Web cast on January 20th, and has since aired weekly “Hillcasts” online to communicate with voters. Thus far this Web-focus has paid off for Clinton, whose campaign Web site drew 828,000 unique visitors in January.
